Help protect our health and local waterways by properly disposing of your household hazardous waste (HHW). Join HC3 and Summit County Government for this free drive-through event.
Household Hazardous Waste Event
What is Accepted:
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Pill form medications: original containers preferred, but will accept any packaging
- Liquid form medications: original containers only
- Electronic Waste
- TVs, laptops, cellphones & tablets
- Computer monitors, printers, keyboards & wires
- Sound systems, DVD players & VCRs
- Aerosol cans, chemicals & cleaners
- Paints, thinners, glues & adhesives
- Fertilizers & pesticides
- Gently used clothing
- Batteries (please tape over leads)
What is Not Accepted:
- No appliances
- No scrap metal
- No tires
- No gasoline or kerosine
- No propane
- No gas grill tanks
- No motor oil or oil filters
- No antifreeze
- No ammunition
- No explosives
- No infectious or biologically active materials
- No radioactive materials
- No LEDs or bulbs
- Fluorescent bulbs and CFLs
- No commercial loads
Can’t make the event? The Summit County Resource Allocation Park accepts many of these items and more, year-round. It’s free for residents and homeowners. Learn how to dispose of your hard-to-recycle items or call HC3 at (970) 668-5703.
Cleanup Day:
Check in at 9 a.m. at the following locations to receive
clean up supplies. Return at noon for a volunteer lunch.
