2026 Solarize Summit is live!
In 2026, new program discounts for solar panels and battery storage help offset the lost federal tax credit, putting solar-powered energy independence within reach. Sign a contract by July 15 to claim your spot.
Discounts Up to 25%
In addition to special program incentives, Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne, and Summit County have a limited number of rebates for residents who sign contracts through the Solarize Summit program. Active Energies Solar - the program's installer - also provides a 5% discount up to a maximum of $2,000.
What is Solarize Summit?
Designed to make going solar simple and more affordable, Solarize Summit offers local residents and businesses a limited-time discount on solar panel installation and battery storage.
If you don’t want to participate in Solarize Summit, you can work with your preferred installer to get up to $1,500 back through our Energy Smart Colorado program. Energy Smart rebates are available year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Call HC3 to confirm rebate availability.
How it works
- Sign up for your free site assessment.
- Receive a customized proposal. Decide if solar is right for you.
- Sign a contract with Active Energies Solar by July 15.
- Get up to $1,650 in upfront discounts from your local government* + 5% discount (maximum $2,000) from the program installer. Additional discounts are available in 2026 – ask Active Energies for more info.
- Install your solar system.
- Celebrate clean, renewable energy!
* Upfront discounts are available to residents of Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne and unincorporated Summit County on a first-come, first-served basis.
Over the past 6 years, the average system cost has been $26,097 (before incentives). Generally speaking, the smaller and more efficient your home, the smaller the system you’ll need. Here’s sample pricing for an average sized house with an average sized system:

The annual utility bill savings assumes that electricity costs won’t increase over time, but that’s unlikely. As the cost of electricity increases, your payback period will decrease.

Many Solarize Summit participants choose to finance their systems with no money out of pocket. Typically, the monthly on-bill credit you receive from Xcel Energy will offset the recurring financing costs.
