Raised in Kansas, Lani grew up gardening with her family, but has called Summit County home for many years now. She attended Kansas State University earning her BS in Horticulture Science and later a MS in Horticulture emphasizing Urban Food Systems. Lani has been working, studying, and teaching sustainable agriculture for over 20 years and looks forward to each season’s plantings, experiences, discoveries, harvests, and garden friends! She is also passionate about environmental sustainability and protecting our delicate ecosystems. Although there is no place like the prairie, Lani fell in love with the forests and mountains and enjoys camping, hiking, biking, and cross country skiing. She has a sincere fondness for garlic, animals, and flute music.
