West Hills provides local workforce housing in the format of townhomes and condos. Resident and HOA board member, Ted, recognized an area of opportunity to divert more waste from the landfill, resulting in more convenient waste collection for residents.

Improvements made:

• Revamped recycling program
• Added glass collection
• Added food scrap collection
• Offered individual recycling bins and compost buckets to owners
• Communicated recycling guidelines with owners
