Built in the early 1980’s, Wedgewood Lodge is a family-owned and operated short-term rental property located just three blocks from Breckenridge Main Street. With ski-side proximity and fifty-two units, Wedgwood is an ideal destination spot. And while their customer base is comprised largely of tourists, they are deeply committed to supporting the local environmental and social community that surrounds them.
As they sought to make a deeper commitment to sustainability, Wedgewood Lodge joined Resource Wise in 2019 and have been making improvements ever since. “It starts with a commitment to do the right thing, from there you figure out what steps are economically feasible,” said manager Michele Tonti. In 2020, Wedgewood Lodge completed an exterior lighting upgrade, achieving Bronze certification in the program. The new LED lighting will result in over $2,000 in annual savings, making their payback period just four months – staff have already noticed energy savings and a much better quality of light for themselves and their customers.
