Emmett is a Summit County native who discovered his passion for preserving the environment at an early age. He achieved his Aerospace Engineering degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder but quickly discovered that his calling led to environmental policy and community engagement. He left engineering behind and changed his profession, which prompted him to complete his master’s in public administration and pursue work in the nonprofit world. He learned the basics of conserving outdoor irrigation water with HC3, the deeply impactful role of waste diversion with Walking Mountains Science Center, and finally adopted the role of Recycling Specialist with HC3. He is thrilled to work with such an engaging team and to help them lead Summit County to a truly sustainable future. Outside of work he loves almost all things outdoors, including running, hiking, biking, skiing, camping, and rafting. He also enjoys exploring new hobbies, like riding and camping from his motorcycle and sailing on Lake Dillon.
