Originally from Ohio, Christy developed a deep love for the natural world on family camping trips as a child. This love led to a calling to reduce her personal impact on the environment, which in turn kindled a passion for educating others on the importance of waste reduction. Christy relocated to Summit County with her family in 2018 to take advantage of all the natural experiences the county has to offer. After many years spent educating family, friends, and coworkers on waste reduction and recycling, she went back to college earning a BA in Sustainability Studies from Colorado Mountain College in 2022. She is now thrilled to help make a larger impact on the Summit County community. Christy knows that recycling can be confusing, even for those who are trying to do the right thing. She is excited to be your guide for all things recycling. In her free time, Christy enjoys reading, kayaking, hiking, skiing, live music, and spending time with family and friends.
