• I joined the board: March 2025
• I joined the board because, first, I believe in HC3?s mission. I also believe that we need many solutions ? both tactical and by advocacy ? to positively impact our world and stem the tide of climate change. In my time working in the ski industry, I learned that collaboration among business leaders can truly transform the sustainability of recreation and the natural world, and also lead to big cultural shifts in mindset around our roles as individuals. Being part of County government and the HC3 Board allows me to share more broadly the importance of climate action, both at the individual and macro levels.
• My passions are: writing, playing outside (give me all the skiing, hiking, cycling and river time!), animal advocacy and telling people about my EV (have I told you about my EV?…).
• My favorite green thing to do is: drive my Ioniq 5 like I stole it. Just kidding ? it?s finding ways to communicate the importance of climate action to different audiences. You have to dig into what the person cares about and relate that to taking audacious climate action ? it depoliticizes the issue and meets folks where they are.
• The craziest thing I have ever done in the name of sustainability is: pushed back against climate activists who limited who they allowed into the sustainability conversation (and limited the conversation itself) ? there is no one path forward, it is going to take many voices and tactics to arrive at a steady and sustainable climate future.
