Sustainability isn?t just Jessie Burley?s job?it?s her passion. As the Sustainability & Parking Manager for the Town of Breckenridge, Jessie has spent the past six years turning big ideas into bold action, making Breckenridge a leader in environmental stewardship not just in Colorado, but on a global scale.

Her impact is everywhere. Thanks to Jessie?s leadership, Breckenridge has implemented transformative policies like the Renewable Energy Mitigation Program, Pay As You Throw, sustainable building codes, and a single-use plastic ban. Under her guidance, 63% of town facilities now run on renewable electricity, and beneficial electrification efforts are reshaping how the town builds for the future. From cold-climate heat pumps to rooftop solar, Jessie has helped set a new standard for sustainable development.

Her work hasn?t gone unnoticed. In 2021, Breckenridge earned international recognition as a Mountain IDEAL sustainable mountain resort destination?an achievement driven by Jessie?s dedication. Beyond her role in Breckenridge, she has also served on the Frisco Town Council, ensuring sustainability remained at the forefront of local policy, and continues to advocate for climate action as a member of Colorado Communities for Climate Action and the state?s Energy Code Board.

Named in honor of High Country Conservation Center?s founder, the Tim McClure Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made lasting contributions to sustainability in Summit County. This year, HC3 is proud to honor Jessie Burley for her relentless commitment to creating a greener, more resilient future.

HC3?s programs empower our community to take climate action. Your support makes achievements like these possible. Done ahora
